Interview with Dirty-Glam

Hello loves! Happy Tuesday. I've been following Yanill blogger at Dirty-Glam for some time now and I really love her style, she's very classy but sexy at the same time and thats my favorite combination. So here it is !

Give a quick intro of yourself

Ex. your name, age, location, what you do, and whatever else you would like to share about yourself

My name is Yanill. I was born in the Bronx and I reside here as well. I'm a college student at the moment and an aspiring fashion blogger. Im into fashion blogging and everything that is glamorous. I want to be a fashion icon and inspire people with the simplest of outfits. I like the simple things that stand out and are unique, I want to live doing this forever and I want to go all around the world capturing peoples attention and motivating others to show off their own style and uniqueness.

Fashion/style Questions

What makes you “different”?

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in the world with a vintage kind of taste but I love vintage looks and thrift shops and I try to incorporate a thrift store item in all of my outfits when I blog. I get inspiration looks from other fashion bloggers I look up to but I always give it a little twist and create my own look with any idea I get.

Describe your style in your own words?

I would say my style is edgy, very vintage and classy. Black is mostly the color of my choice, I think everything looks so perfect in black. When I go shopping I pick items that look the most old fashioned.

Who is your favorite designer or brand?

Favorite designers and brands that have often catch my attention would be Alexander wang, h&m, Balmain, Alice + Olivia, forever 21, Hermes, Guess, Missguided, River island, Zara, Topshop.. And I probably missed a couple but I'll leave it at that.

Who is your biggest fashion inspiration?
I would say the women that inspire me with their style would be Nicole Richie, Victoria Beckham, Solange Knowles, Olivia Palermo, Demi lovato, Blake lively...and I can keep on..

What piece in your closet could you not live without?
My leather jackets

What would you say your fashion philosophy is? (what fashion means to you)

Fashion means a form of expression and art to me, a way to basically express who you are by putting your favorite pieces of clothing items together. Your style and fashion might tell people what kind of mood you're in, what colors you love, what your favorite types of clothes are just like when someone paints a picture as a way to express themselves through their paintings instead in Fashion you do it through your outfits.

What is your favorite part about blogging?

It's so exciting to relive every photoshoot when I'm blogging, I would say that's my favorite part.. Thinking back to how much fun it was, how I put an outfit together and thinking how I can capture my viewers attention with one simple paragraph.

Describe your style with two words

What is your number one fashion advice?

Everyone has a specific kind of passion, and everyone should follow what they love and if its to be a well known fashion blogger like me go for it all the way with all your heart and soul, don't let anything stop you from fulfilling what truly makes your heart beat twice.

What do you think is the most important thing in ones appearance for examples shoes, hair, clothes, handbag, attitude, etc.

if my hair and nails are done, I feel like I can wear anything and it'll look good to go! But with appearance a lot comes to mind... Your hair should always be perfect, your nails should be done, you should always smell good and look presentable of course.. But if you have some killer heels well let's be serious... you've succeeded.

If you could go back and give your 13 year old self a piece of advice what would it be?

I have to say this is such a good question, it even made me tear (lol) I got emotional just reading it and thinking back to when I was 13 years old. Okay this is how my side of the conversation would go.

"Listen Yanill... Don't be afraid of what life is going to bring you in the next couple of years, you need to be more confident in yourself it would make you so much happier in the future.. never let others see you cry so much even though crying it's always a good way of letting feelings go you're being looked at as vulnerable and always hurting, Take every negative experience as a challenge and as a way to never give in into bad and sad situations, smile more and practice being more of an optimist through out the worse in your life it it would pay off.. there's more to life than being sad over a guy and I promise you that time heals everything, even though you'll never forget the pain in time you'll be perfectly okay, so whenever you fall in love, love hard just know that if it ends greater things are to come and you will survive, even if it feels like you aren't. You might encounter extreme situations that are inevitable to prevent so make sure you always acknowledge those you care about and love and just know that pain fades away even when memories remain. Always look at the positive side of things and follow your dreams no matter what, you will make it.
